Qualified Designation of origin Rioja

Oinoz Crianza is a red wine made of the Tempranillo grape variety from our vineyards in Labastida and San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja). This wine, which represents the best of this magnificent wine-growing area, won the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in its first vintage.

This wine comes from old vineyards located in the highest areas of Sierra de Cantabria, between San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, one of the most prestigious areas of La Rioja.

In this area, the weather conditions are very special, as the mountains act as a natural filter for the humid storms from the North, filtering a fresh and healthy air that bathes our vineyards and provide wines with great aromatic freshness, fruitiness, structure and minerality. Matured for 12 months in French and American oak barrels with light toasted notes, this modern wine won't go unnoticed.

The vineyard

 Fresh chalky soils of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, located in the north side of the Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja and in the vicinity of the Carlos Moro winery. 25 to 80-year-old goblet-trained vineyards with limited production and small-sized grapes.

The wine

It is a wine with dark cardinal colour and purplish notes, aromas of violets and fresh red fruit, such as raspberry and blackberry, with subtle eucalyptus menthol between spicy white pepper, liquorice stick and a reminiscence of mineral and clay.

In the mouth it is very elegant and soft and has a good acidity that emerges after fruity and fine toasted sensations, providing a pleasant and long finish.

It is an intense, round and balanced wine with a long and lingering aftertaste.
