Emina Winery has always been committed to the potential and exclusivity of its vineyards. EminaVerdejo on lees is a white wine made from grapes grown in our own vineyards and, in order to respect the terroir exclusivity as much as possible, the yeast that carries out the fermentation process has been also selected from our own Verdejo plots in the Designation of Origin Rueda.
DESCRIPTION
Resulting from a long and careful research project, EMINAVerdejo is the winery's first wine to be fermented with autochthonous yeast, i.e., yeast from its own plots. The result of this fermentation process is a wine with enhanced organoleptic properties and elegant notes of fresh tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit.
For the fermentation of EMINAVerdejo, a yeast called "SchacaromycesCerevisaeEMINA" from our own vineyards has been used.
Las Marcas is one of our most important estates located in Villalba de Adaja, Valladolid. This estate is divided into several parts, the largest of which grows trellis-trained grapes of the Verdejo variety. This vineyard has a planting pattern of 5,000 strains per hectare and is located on the banks of the river Adaja.
This spectacular wine is made in contact with fine fermentation lees. This method makes wine evolution slow and different, creating a wine with style, personality and balance.
TASTING
In the visual phase, this white wine is clean and very bright and displays a yellowish straw colour with greenish reflections.
In the nose stage, this wine reveals a high intensity with aromas of strawberries and fruits with seed, as well as sensations of fresh pineapple on a background of fennel and grapefruit.
In the mouth it is a structured wine with excellent length and balance between the fresh sensations of acidity with the elegant bitterness of the Verdejo variety and intense flavours of apricot, soft tropical and citrus fruits.
