Carlos Moro Finca Picón de Zurita is a red wine that reflects the winemaking tradition of Carlos Moro's family who, in this extraordinary vineyard culture area of Olivares de Duero, has selected the flagship estate in which their ancestors grew a vineyard since time immemorial to produce a unique wine.

Picón de Zurita is a vineyard with old clones of the TintaFina or Tempranillo variety located on the right bank of the Duero River. It has sandy loam soils with a surface of alluvial origin as well as extreme weather conditions due to its high 750-meter altitude. It is a flat estate with a 100 years-old vineyard, which perfectly regulates the production and highlights its terroir. It is one of the oldest plots that the Renacimiento Winery owns in Ribera del Duero.

Grapes from this vineyard are cared for meticulously and manually and have a triple selection of clusters and berries with an artificial vision system. They undergo alcoholic fermentation in a stainless steel tank followed by malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels.

Then, the wine is matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Carlos Moro FincaPicón de Zurita is a red wine that has an intense and lively cardinal layer with purplish tones. The nose reveals acid dark fruit aromas with a concentration of Chinese ink and dark chocolate among cedar and ebony fine wood, spicy clove and roasted coffee.

In the mouth it displays fruity sensations and spicy flavours of clove, thyme and new wood.

PAIRING

This red wine from Ribera del Duero pairs perfectly with cured sheep cheese, mushrooms, charcoal-broiled or grilled beef, cocido, lechal lamb, roast suckling pig or chops, traditional Castilian soup and stews.
